On August 20, 1958, fifty-nine Dade County firemen got together to form the Dade County Firemen's Benevolent Association. The Benevolent was established to promote efficiency, cooperation, harmony, and social relationships among its members, and has continued to strive to accomplish this mission over its history. Today's membership has grown to over 1800 firefighters.
Each year, in an effort to boost the morale of its members, the Benevolent hosts about a dozen events. From the decades-running annual fishing festival, and Fisheating Creek campout, to separate holiday parties for both children and adults, the Benevolent brings firefighters and their families together for well-deserved fun and relaxation.
The Dade County Firefighter's Benevolent Association has gone through many changes over the years, but the one thing that will never change is its commitment to its members.
